One of the main problems the world is facing today is the energy crisis. With the developmentof industry and agriculture, the world has consumed a great amount of energy. However, energy is of great importance to us. We can hardly imagine how we could live in aworld without energy. We wouldn't be able to drive our cars and listen to our favourite music. Therefore, conserving our energy is an important task. We must take active measures toprotect our energy resources. For one thing, it is a largesource of foreign exchange and an important part of national planning as well. For another, we may well say that tourism can help to promote the understanding and friendship amongthe peoples of different countries.

The main reason why some people oppose tourism is that the masses cannot benefit from itbecause the pressure of too many tourists means the higher prices of goods.

In spite of this, I think its gains outweigh its losses. It also means more employment and moreincome for the country. For this reason the tourist industry should be developed vigorously soas to meet the needs of our socialist economy.
